5 THE QUETZAL SONG
To give you even more reasons to discover Chichen Itza, I would tell you that in archaeological site it is possible to hear a quite intense sound of a short duration similar to the song of the Quetzal bird. You would be able to hear it if you stand approximately 40 meters away from the front of the principal pyramid ladder.
The curious phenomenon was announced in 2004, and it was concluded that these sounds are very similar to the song of a quetzal bird, which is considered a sacred animal for Mayas, but as some archaeologists say it could also be a sound of the drops of rain. You can’t miss it!
I really hope you are convinced to visit Chichen Itza and live a unique and special experience that you will never forget.
